El llac dels Ozarks, a Missouri (Estats Units), s’ha fet conegut aquests darrers anys a la resta del món, sobretot, gràcies a l’exitosa sèrie homònima de Netflix, a la qual la família del protagonista, Marty Byrde (interpretat per Jason Bateman), blanquejava els diners de la droga d’un càrtel mexicà des d’aquest mateix llac. Durant les darreres hores, els Ozarks han tornat a la primera línia mediàtica, però aquesta vegada no a través de la ficció, sinó als informatius reals de mig món. A un país que ja acumula cent mil morts per coronavirus i on la pandèmia està lluny d'estar controlada, s’han fet virals les imatges d’una festa multitudinària que s’ha fet aquest cap de setmana —molt semblant a les festes dels joves que apareixien a la sèrie—, la qual no respectava cap de les normes del confinament, tot el contrari. La difusió d'aquestes imatges contrasten amb la publicació de la històrica portada de The New York Times amb mil obituaris de morts per culpa de la Covid-19.
