Avui és un bon dia pels fans de la cantant de “Shake it Off”. Taylor Swift ha anunciat el llançament d’un nou àlbum sorpresa titulat Folklore, que es publicarà aquesta mitjanit (hora de l’est dels Estats Units). La cantant de pop ha fet pública la notícia a Twitter i Instagram aquest matí, on ha explicat que és un àlbum escrit i gravat completament en aïllament. Tot i això, també ha pogut comptar amb l'ajuda de compositors com Bon Iver o Jack Antonoff. 

“Sorpresa! Aquesta mitjanit publicaré un àlbum completament nou amb cançons on he abocat tots els meus capritxos, somnis, pors i reflexions. He escrit i gravat aquesta música en aïllament, però he col·laborat amb alguns dels meus herois musicals”.

Folklore - el vuitè àlbum d’estudi de Swift – compta amb 16 nous temes que revelaran la cara més íntima de l’artista. L’àlbum inclou cançons com “cardigan" – el videoclip de la qual també s’estrenarà aquesta nit -, “mad woman” o “this is me trying”. L’artista ha reconegut que el llançament del nou àlbum no estava planejat, sinó que és un cúmul de successos fruit de la situació que s’està vivint a causa de la pandèmia de la Covid-19. 

“La majoria de les coses que havia planejat aquest estiu no han acabat tenint lloc”, ha escrit la cantant, segurament fent referència a la cancel·lació del tour de l’àlbum “Lover”, publicat el 2019. “Però això és una cosa que no havia planejat que sí que ha succeït”.

Most of the things I had planned this summer didn’t end up happening, but there is something I hadn’t planned on that DID happen. And that thing is my 8th studio album, folklore. Surprise ?Tonight at midnight I’ll be releasing my entire brand new album of songs I’ve poured all of my whims, dreams, fears, and musings into. I wrote and recorded this music in isolation but got to collaborate with some musical heroes of mine; @aarondessner (who has co-written or produced 11 of the 16 songs), @boniver (who co-wrote and was kind enough to sing on one with me), William Bowery (who co-wrote two with me) and @jackantonoff (who is basically musical family at this point). Engineered by Laura Sisk and Jon Low, mixed by Serban Ghenea & Jon Low. The album photos were shot by the amazing @bethgarrabrant. Before this year I probably would’ve overthought when to release this music at the ‘perfect’ time, but the times we’re living in keep reminding me that nothing is guaranteed. My gut is telling me that if you make something you love, you should just put it out into the world. That’s the side of uncertainty I can get on board with. Love you guys so much ♥️

Amb Folklore, lluny queden els dies de les tàctiques habituals de Swift prèvies al llançament de discos: setmanes d’insinuacions i rellotges amb compte enrere, fent créixer el suspens i les teories entre els fans.
